The Rolex Baselworld releases of 2014

This year’s exhibition saw some astonishing displays of innovation and individuality. Rolex
watches reinvented the dress model of Cellini with a very elegant expression of the
traditional 3-hand watch equipped with a center seconds, minutes and hour hands. The
Rolex Cellini watch includes the Cellini Date and the Cellini Dual Time which gives the range
a wide new perspective. The models are done in leather strap to keep the classic charm
intact. The Rolex Cellini recalls the vintage era with simplicity and a major focus on the
brand’s heritage. Everything about the watch speaks of elegance, virtuous ingenuity and an
approach towards reverence.
The new models come in an 18k white gold or everose gold with pink assents and hour
markers. The white gold dial watch is available in a black alligator leather strap and the
everose gold watch is available in a black or brown alligator leather strap. The dial has a
beautiful black or white lacquer or embellished classic “Rayon flammé de la gloire” guilloche
motif which gives the time teller a perfectly chic look. The 3135 movement have made their
way back into the calibre used in the 2014 Cellini range. Notably, the watch is powered with
a self-winding movement with a Blue Parachrom hairspring with Breguet overcoil, beating at
28,800 beats/hour (4Hz), equipped with 31 rubies.
The next significant launch for Rolex this Baselworld is the Oyster Perpetual GMT – Master
II. Rolex achieved the unimaginable by devising a method to merge two extremely different
colour and that too quite unique for ceramic into a chemical combination of ceramic
ensuring a sharp delineation between the two colours. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMTMaster II, unveiling a red and blue Cerachrom bezel is manufactured in a single piece and
offers exceptional scratch and corrosion resistance. The aesthetic appeal of this time teller is
spectacular and beyond compare.
The watch has a unique high technology that pushes boundaries. The watch has bulkcoloured, single-piece Cerachrom insert is red for the hours between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and
blue for the hours between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. By virtue of being manufactured in a single
piece, the insert acquires mechanical resistance properties that respond to the quality and
reliability demanded of a Rolex product.
