Apologies if you're just back from your summer
holidays but as the next big holiday season is
only a few months away (yes we are talking
about Christmas) – we need to talk about
Stewarton's Christmas Lights – or lack of them!
Well hopefully our wishes will come true this
year as a small group of locals have decided to
get together and organise fund raising to get
our town lit up this coming festive season.
It all started after a comment on a local Facebook
page when somebody asked the million dollar
question, “Why does Stewarton not have any
Christmas lights when all other local towns do?”
It was a great question which started a lively
debate. It has been several years since the town
had Christmas lights. It was around 2005 that
we got John Finnie Street's old lights but they
were in need of so much repair that they only
