10 To place editorial email [email protected] Boy’s Brigade Section Focus - Juniors The Junior Section is our middle section aimed at p.4 to p.6. We have a mix of boys from Robertland and Lainshaw schools as well as Fenwick and Dunlop. We have 28 boys currently on the overall Company roll of 100 boys. The boys do badge work, games, crafts and visits/ competitions. For a number of years we have also been going swimming for once a month on the normal Wednesday night. Great and busy start to the session with a lot of activities making sure we cater for all boys in our Section. Few highlights include the recent visit to the Anchors and Juniors of Owl Magic which was a great night for the boys. Our Battalion activities so far have been a Treasure Hunt at Eglintoun Park, Ten Pin Bowling, Athletics, Swimming Gala, Cooking and 5-A-Side Football. On the night before the cooking competition we had a sleepover in the Church Hall, the boys had a great time playing games, eating and free time highlight being a late night lights out with the result a few tired boys in the morning (and staff of course) Competition wise our medal haul has been good this year with 12 medals at Athletics, 3 at swimming gala and a 1st and 3rd place at the 5-A-Side. Our Juniors even had indoor fireworks on bonfire night which they really enjoyed. It was good also to see the Junior section boys out at the War Memorial recently on Remembrance Sunday where the Company laid 2 wreaths, with our normal BB wreath and also a WW1 commemorative wreath.
