To date, various events have been held within the church building including, musical evenings, concerts, story-telling and art workshops. The most recent event was a one and a half day stained glass workshop at which, Eilidh Keith, a well respected stained glass and leaded light expert tutored participants in designing and constructing a small stained glass and leaded panel. (see photos) We hope that we will be able to hold a further workshop later in the year. Violinist Hector Scott and professional pianist Anna Matromatidi will be performing in Dunlop Church on 31st May at 7pm. Hector and Anna entertained us in January, and we look forward to their return visit. This time their concert will include Sonatina in G major by Antonin Dvorak, Mossgeil Grand Scottish Fantasia by W. Mackenzie-Murdoch and Suite for violin and piano by William Grant Still. Music composed by A.C. Mackenzie and J.B. McEwan will accompany a short silent film entitled ‘St Kilda, Britain’s Lonliest Isle’. Hector and Anna are professional musicians whose infectious enthusiasm for music promises their audience enjoyable relaxation on what we hope will be a lovely summers evening.
