CONTINUING PROGRESS

the community led action plan steering group , which is entirely comprised of local residents , is making good progress with developing a plan to be presented for the approval of the community at a public meeting later this year .

The Plan is expected to feature 4 main themes :
• Housing and Infrastructure
• Roads , Traffic , Parking and the Environment
• Community Spirit and Youth Activities
• Community Safety
There will also be a short history of Stewarton ; a description of the Town and the local Community ; and a summary of the ‘ likes ’ and ‘ dislikes ’ identified during the recent Community Survey .
Small groups have been formed to do this work , with individual residents coming forward to offer their opinions and expertise . There remain plenty of opportunities for everybody to have their say in the formulation of the plan . If you wish to participate , or help in any other way , please contact any of the following :

exciting move for wrap-around care

From 17th August Lainshaw Lions are delighted to announce that they will be offering a breakfast service from the dining room at Lainshaw Primary School . They are pleased to be meeting demand for such a service and taking the pressure off busy working parents . This includes childcare , breakfast , fun and friendship . Their wraparound care will still be on offer but will operate from The Centre , 7 Standalane , Stewarton . Children will enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities from 9am to 3pm .
Their After School Care service will operate from the original location of Lainshaw ' s gym hall . Outdoor play will continue to be part of their activities .
Lainshaw Lions ' two senior staff members have been busy working and planning with the children for the big move . The kids have made lists of equipment they would like to take to The Centre for day sessions . They also have a list of new equipment they would like to buy for which they are holding a fundraiser at the Gala Day .
After the summer holidays Lainshaw Lions welcome two new staff members to the team as their services expand . All the changes have been supported by Miss Speirs from Lainshaw Primary School and by their Care Inspectorate Officer .
The summer holiday service run from The Centre will also change after consultation via a questionnaire . These changes will provide much more flexible options for parents including a new half day rate . There will also be the ability to choose between sending your child on day trips or staying local if the times of day trips don ' t suit .
Margaret Campbell , of Lainshaw Lions says ,
" We are part funded by East Ayrshire Council and this will continue for another year which is a great boost as we thought this was coming to an end . Please follow us on our Facebook page to get daily updates on our snacks , lunches and play activities or news we have ."
