Popular TV chef Phil Vickery will spice up The Cookery Theatre at the award-winning The Edible Garden Show, the only national event dedicated to grow-your- own.

Phil, who raises his own pigs, keeping more than 50 in woodland near his home and is a passionate home grower, will give cookery demonstrations on Saturday 29 March at the event which is putting down new roots at Alexandra Palace in London. The versatile TV chef is a favourite on shows such as Ready Steady Cook and This Morning where he brings his classic British cooking to enthusiastic audiences who enjoy his mouth watering recipes.

Before his TV career took off Phil won both Michelin and Egon Ronay stars at his restaurants and he has

also written a number of popular cookery books. Phil says: “I am

delighted to be appearing

at The Edible Garden Show. Fresh, seasonal, home grown ingredients add fabulous taste to

so many recipes. It is brilliant that so many people are having a go at grow-your-own, even if they don’t have big gardens.”

Although Phil will only be at The Edible Garden Show for one day, there are a host of expert speakers at the event for the whole weekend from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th March. They include award winning TV botanist James Wong, BBC The One Show’s gardening guru Christine Walkden, chef, forager and wild food expert Mark Lloyd; author, TV and radio presenter Pippa Greenwood; Naomi Schillinger who has written a book about grow-your-own in tight spaces and Blue Peter gardener Chris Collins.

The Edible Garden Show’s own gardening expert Paul Peacock will also be back at the event along with popular chef Rachel Green and poultry expert Victoria Roberts.

The Edible Garden Show has moved to London to bring the show to a bumper new crop of visitors. Bigger and better than ever before, the three-day event is a fertile mix of celebrity speakers, interactive advice sessions, cookery demonstrations, innovative products and a fabulous range of exhibitors selling everything you need for a slice of the ‘good life’.

Perfectly timed for the beginning of the growing season, the show is buzzing with tips on keeping bees, raising chickens, brewing beer, saving energy, mouth-watering baking and dishing up delicious meals using home-grown ingredients. It’s a must-see show for anyone interested in self-sufficiency and packed with masses of trendy and chic ideas for conjuring yummy, healthy food from plot to plate.

The Edible Garden Show 2014 will promote numerous alternate ways to harvest your own crop of home-grown, fresh and healthy produce.
