CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF RETAIL

AND LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

In March 1989 Thorncroft Clematis opened its shop for the first time. To celebrate our first 25 years of trading we will be holding an Event at the nursery on Saturday 22nd March 2014.

As we plan for the next quarter century we have decided to concentrate on our much praised Mail Order Service, from January 2014, we will no longer offer retail sales on site at Reymerston.

Ironic as this may seem it is a reflection of changes in the buying habits of our customers.

We will be holding Open Days and Special Events at the nursery during the year and of course clubs and societies are still welcome to book a tour or visit to the nursery. We will also offer a Click and Collect service available through our website or via telephone for any customers who wish to collect plants from the nursery by appointment, but there will be no sales area to freely browse.

We have been accepted for the Chelsea Flower Show again and will continue to exhibit there as before. We will also hope to attend a few more plant fairs around the region, so we hope to provide many opportunities for you our valued customers to meet us and purchase plants.

As part of this change we are rebuilding our website to ensure it is fully up to date, aiming to be ahead of our competitors with all the facilities you would expect, but retain the clear and easy to use format that so many customers have become familiar with.

Pruning demonstrations will be held at the nursery on the following dates: 7th, 8th and 15th February. We aim to cover the whole topic of pruning clematis, using plants in our garden for demonstrations.

We have found these talks to be very popular with our customers who have appreciated the opportunity to see a 'real plant' pruned, rather than trying to follow printed descriptions of the various methods.

Each session will last approximately two hours and in part will be outside in the garden, so warm clothing, waterproofs, wellies, etc. may be advisable, depending on the weather. Afterwards we will be pleased to offer a warming cup of tea, coffee or hot soup and a choice of biscuits.

Booking is recommended, as we have set a maximum number for each demonstration. There is a charge of £10.00 per person if you wish to pay on the day. Pay in advance and only pay £5.00 per person.

Please telephone or e-mail with your name, the date you wish to attend, and a contact telephone number or e-mail address or book online at www.thorncroftclematis.co.uk
