am asked about the Ordinariate, and I am often asked, people want to know not just what it
is, but how it is. By that, I mean how is it organised. I usually tell them it is like a diocese, but spread
over the whole of the United Kingdom.
no substitute for meeting each other
There are Ordinariate Groups in England, in
Wales and in Scotland. That is quite a wide area for
the Ordinariate to cover. Of course, with modern
communications it is easier. We have the telephone,
mobile phones, e-mail, FaceTime and Skype.
Nevertheless, there is no substitute for actually meeting
each other.
We may see and hear Mgr Keith Newton on our
computers, but how often do we get to meet him? How
often do we get to meet Ordinariate members from
other parts of the country?
It is for everyone!
we are, and what we are doing. We shall celebrate
Holy Mass together in Westminster Cathedral and,
after lunch, we shall be addressed by His Eminence
Cardinal Vincent Nichols. As the afternoon draws to
a close, Mgr Keith Newton, our Ordinary, will deliver
his “Charge” to us.
There is a Reception at Golden Square on the Friday
evening, addressed by Dr William Oddie, and Sunday
Mass will be celebrated at Warwick Street. The Portal
will be at all the events, so when you come, maker sure
to come and chat to us.
