“Called to be One”

Ordinariate Groups
across the country have published the details of what they are
planning for the Ordinariate’s exploration day, Called to Be One on 6th September. About forty different
events are taking place across the country, with the common theme of the Vision for Christian Unity which
is at the heart of the Ordinariate.
There is a wide variety of events on offer, ranging
from a discussion in Oxford entitled “Ordinariate
- Dead End or Ecumenical Breakthrough” to an
exhibition in Coventry about the Ordinariate and, in
Buckfast, silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament,
followed by a discussion over cream tea.
Most of the events include some form of worship:
Evensong, Benediction or Mass according to the
Ordinariate Use; many of the groups will be showing a
DVD about the Ordinariate and all the groups include
a question and answer session and refreshments in
their programmes.
God might be calling
The day is especially aimed at those who feel that
God might be calling them to join the Ordinariate,
but everyone who wishes to find out more about us
is welcome. The Ordinary, Monsignor Keith Newton,
speaking of the idea behind the day, said: “We felt
our groups should start being more active in trying
to show that they are around and available for people
who are inquiring about the Ordinariate.
