We put the suggestion that groups could support a couple of Ordinariate Groups with a building, a priest, presbytery and cash for three years. Denise spoke for the Group when she said, “The concept is not logical. To ask us to contribute to another Group is not fair. I would Doris Nicklin not pay for that.” This group thought “money raised locally must be spent locally”.

new people here today
“Our Group is growing. We had new people here today. A group from Gillingham come as we are their nearest Group. Some will drift to become Diocesan Catholics, but I don’t think that really matters. It all helps to fill what Dr Nichols calls the four hundred year gap.
little point to being distinct
We chatted about the relationship of the Ordinariate to the Catholic Church. This Group thought there was little point to being distinct from the Diocesan Catholic Church. Joe Borg Christine had “come to God through the CofE, but for us it was not fulfilling. We were led to Fr Paul and we walked with him to the Catholic Church.” Maureen was unhappy that “the CofE had become watered down”, while Denise said, “The CofE is very territorial. The Barry Johnson Catholic Church is more about unity.”
