In the context of Solemn Vespers (Evening Prayer) of St John the Evangelist, the Right Reverend Monsignor Keith Newton, Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, blessed the new pipe organ, after which a reception was held and a recital, played by Jamie Rogers BMus, FRSM, demonstrated the scope of the new instrument. Locals said they had never seen so many in church before! The hall had a solemn blessing and the party began. About 120 people were present, all the food was excellent and it soon disappeared and a good time was had by all present! Feast Day Celebrations O rdinariate members in Southend enjoyed a special celebration on the Solemnity of Our Lady of Walsingham, as can be seen from the photograph (far right).
