On the
2nd February, the Feast of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple, many hundreds gathered
in a rather chilly York Minster for the consecration of the Revd Philip North as Bishop of Burnley. He
will be well known to many in the Ordinariate because he served as Administrator of the (Anglican) Shrine of
Our Lady of Walsingham from 2002 to 2008, before becoming Rector of the Old St Pancras Team in London.
There was obviously much rejoicing that the Bishop of Blackburn had been true to his word and appointed a
traditional catholic to the role after the retirement of Bishop John Goddard, another traditionalist.
