half tells me that I’m too pessimistic, too cynical, too quick to look
for the negative. She is absolutely right, and she should know – she has to live with my
all-too-human foibles 24/7. I assume that the towels will have been left wet on the bathroom
floor again before I have a bath, and that the postman will be late today – again. I can be
relied upon to bring down an uplifting event and spot the cloud in a clear blue sky.
