THE P RTAL July 2018 Page 17 News from the Ordinariate New Chantry Guild to be formed O ur  readers who are familiar with the Anglo Catholic wing of the Church of England will be familiar with the Guild of All Souls, which worked to encourage prayers for the souls of the Faithful Departed.  In the Catholic Church the equivalent organisations are known as Purgatorial Associations. Once the canonical procedures have been completed, the faithful will be encouraged to join the society and to enter the names of their departed loved ones in its register. Funds will be raised to enable Masses to be offered for the souls of departed members of the society and those souls enrolled on the register. Hemel Hempstead Mission take to the water A lmost 30 members and friends of the Hemel Hempstead Ordinariate Mission enjoyed a day on the Grand Union Canal recently.  Some took the opportunity to get some exercise navigating the locks on the canal, others preferred to enjoy the view from inside, with a glass or two of wine and plenty of lovely food.  Thanks to Waterways Experiences who welcomed everyone, young or old, fit or less-abled, and gave them a day to remember.  More photographs available on the Hemel Hempstead Mission’s Facebook page. Ordinariate of OLW goes on Pilgrimage O ver three hundred Pilgrims joined the annual Ordinariate Pilgrimage to Walsingham on 23 rd June. It was a wonderful day. Our pictures are by Eric Pittuck.
