The Ordinariate in Sheffield

High Mass was celebrated in Saint Marie ’ s

Cathedral , Sheffield on Saturday , 19th November by the Right Reverend Mgr Keith Newton assisted by Father David Stafford [ Deacon ] and Father Andrew Starkie [ Sub-Deacon ]. During the Mass Stephen Brown and Duncan Scott were received and confirmed into the Catholic Church as members of the Ordinariate .
The picture shows [ from left to right ] Duncan Scott , Fr Stafford , Mgr Newton , Stephen Brown and Fr Starkie . The Mass setting , sung by the ‘ New Chamber Choir ,’ was ‘ Missa , O Magnum Mysterium ’ by Tomas Victoria [ 1548-1611 ]. Approximately 120 people attended this wonderful celebration to mark the conclusion of the Year of Mercy .
