Portal Comment
Will Burton looks at the year ahead
The Jubilee Year of Mercy
and the Ordinariate of OLW
ith this edition of The Portal, we enter a
New Year. It is, of course the Jubilee Year
of Mercy. To mark this, we shall be carrying
a series of articles on the seven Corporal and
the seven Spiritual Works of Mercy.
W
Each will be written by a different
person. Some will be by one of our regular
columnists, others by a guest writer. For
January our own Joanna Bogle starts us off
with “Visiting those in Prison”. The rest will
appear regularly throughout the year.
Fr Julian Green
For the beginning of 2016 we introduce Fr Julian
Green. He will be writing an article each and every
month on some aspect of Catholic Theology linked
to a season or feast day. Fr Green is involved in
theological teaching as well as being Parish Priest of
Golden Hill in Stoke on Trent.
Aid to the Church in Need
From time to time in 2016 we shall
be having an article provided
by Aid to the Church in Need.
This, most worthy of charities,
is close to the hearts of many
in the Ordinariate of Our Lady
of Walsingham not least because
of their help and assistance to our
clergy when they entered into full communion with
the Catholic Church.
You may also remember that recently Jackie
Ottaway and Ronald Crane interviewed Neville
Kyrke-Smith, National Director and Company
Secretary of ACN. You may find this interview on the
archive section of our Web Site.
From February we shall be introducing yet another
new columnist to our pages, but more of that next
month. There are no prizes for guessing who it might
be, but it will do no harm to have a few guesses!
