The Portal is delighted at the news from Rome that Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Westminster will become Cardinal Vincent Nichols in the near future. We send him our sincere congratulations. More news of the Cardinal designate below. We also send our congratulations to Cardinal designate, Archbishop Gerhard Müller of the CDF. You will remember The Portal met him and some of his staff for the December issue. Our prayers are with both these soon-to-be Cardinals. Dates and Things 2014 looks like being a busy year for the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. Various dates and events have recently been announced. The Chrism Mass The Chrism Mass is to be at the Assumption Warwick Street, 1130 on Monday 14th April 2014 with the Nuncio, His Excellency Archbishop Antonio Mennini. Ordinariate Festival Saturday 20th September 2014 is the Ordinariate Festival at Westminster Cathedral and Hall. This will be a whole day event - indeed we are hoping that there will be something on the Friday (19th) evening, and on the Sunday morning (21st) at Warwick Street as well. What we can tell you now is that there will be rather special guest who has agreed to come and address us. There is a small committee running this, and the fullprogramme will be available shortly. Make sure that this weekend is in your diary. Remember too, look out for further initiatives this year and give them your full support.” Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Walsingham Looking back Saturday 28th June 2014 is the Ordinariate Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Walsingham. The programme will be available later this month, but for now you do need to make sure you are in Walsingham between 12noon and 1630 that day. Looking back, The Portal was at the Friends Epiphany Carol Service in early January. Fr Jeff Woolnough has organised our previous Pilgrimages, and we thank him for his sterling work. He now feels it is time to step down, and Mgr Keith Newton has asked The Portal to take on this task. Watch this space! Ordinariate Iniatives for 2014 There are a number of initiatives for the Ordinaraite in 2014. Make sure you watch in The Portal for details of these, and mark them in your diary as soon as they are publicised. our mission is becoming clearer The Ordinariate has come a long way in just three years. There are those who wish we had made more progress, and no doubt, there are those who rue the progress we have
