On this day in 1913 the Anglican Benedictines of Caldey, who later moved to Prinknash Abbey (where the community was founded in 1948), were received into the Catholic Church by Bishop Mostyn of Menevia. To mark this Celebration Bishop Hugh Gilbert, Bishop of Aberdeen, who served as Abbot of Pluscarden Abbey from 1992 until we was appointed Bishop of Aberdeen in 2011, will celebrate the Celebration Mass in the Abbey with Abbot Anselm Atkinson and the Monks. At the invitation of Abbot Anslem the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham will be represented by Fr Len Black and Fr Stanley Bennie, from the Ordinariate group in Scotland. We wish them God’s richest blessings as the celebrate this anniversary.
