Thank you for your regular delivery EVERY month
of The Portal , always on 1st of the month.
I have recently acquired an i-Pad and these
need an “App” in order to read newspapers and
other magazines, an App being an application or
programme to enable one to see and read.
I wonder if you have considered making The
Portal available to those who use i-Pads which seem
all the rage these days. Perhaps you could research
and find out if it can be done without cost to you.
Maybe we would need to log in if you don’t want it to
be seen by everyone.

Thank you for your message, Peter. Making
The Portal available for iPad, Android devices
and E-books in general is something we have
been considering for some time. At the moment
acquiring an ‘App’ appears to be quite a costly
exercise, but we do agree it is a ‘must’ for the
future. However, because we operate on a very
tight budget, it is not possible at the moment.
Please be assured that it is something we are
keeping a close eye on.

My Dad (Ray White) is 88 (he will be 89 in May)
and was received and confirmed into the Ordinariate
on 18th March 2011. This was done before the others
in our group and most others countrywide because
he had not been at all well during the beginning of
the year and I was anxious about him being left in
limbo and having to wait several weeks until Maundy
Thursday.
I obviously have no way of knowing for sure, but
I think he may well be the oldest member of the
Ordinariate. Dad (and I) had been at St. Francis since
1958. He was Head Server for around 48 years until
he had to give up at the age of 85. He was secretary of
the GSS in the area for well over 20 years and used to
run annual week-long pilgrimages to Walsingham.
Dad was adamant he wanted to be received into
the Catholic Church via the Ordinariate as soon as
he heard about it. I had always known that he felt
drawn to join the Roman Catholic church, but the
time never seemed right and he was always busy at St
Francis. I know Dad would love to be taking a more
active role in our group by serving and helping out in
other ways.
However it is wonderful that he has been given this
opportunity to join the Ordinariate and become part
of the Catholic church in his latter days and I am so
glad that we have both been able to do this together.
