Today' theme wa the poignant one of "Re on iliation in our om m union~ The hi tory of Ireland i littered
with suffering, famine and violence, not to mention child abuse; yet the people remain joyful and hospitable.
As the week has gone on, numbers at the IEC have increased. U1i was reaUy noti eable this moming. When
we arrived at the RD , the ite wa full of hoot children, all in uniform. Number of people attendi ng Lhe
Congress have in reased every day.

in its rawness. He talked of failure and

in which he reminded us that Our

inadeqttate response of the Chur h authoritie . It was a brave and powerful
