THE P RTAL August 2012 Page 15 Letters to the Editor The Portal has received this letter, which we thought we ought to publish in full and with the senders details displayed. This is not our usual practice, but in this case not only did the senders request it, it is clearly right and proper so to do. Sisters of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham 1 Island Row, 636 Commercial Road, Limehouse, London E14 7HS Tel: 0207 0050048 Mobile: 07929 740340 Email: [email protected] Dear All, Incredibly, it is now just over a year and a half ago since that amazing day when the three of us stood in lofty Westminster Cathedral, standing alongside our former Bishops, with what felt like the world looking at us! Our faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ was overwhelmingly deep and reassuring, as we stepped out on a new adventure, not knowing quite what it would hold for us. In September 2011, we made our move to the East London Parish of Our Lady Immaculate and simply got on with it, so to speak, as best we could. This has been a testing time for all of us. I can now tell you that Sr. Carolyne Joseph has left us to test her vocation elsewhere. As many religious communities will tell you, when someone comes or goes, there are adjustments that have to be made and that is what Sr. Wendy Renate and I are currently doing, whilst we carry on with our respective ministries in the Parish and at The Bishop Challoner Catholic Collegiate School. In consultation with Monsignor Keith Newton, we are looking at possible moves, but at present, we are not in a position to give details. However, I can say that we are looking at situations which will have the potential for us to grow, if God is willing. To encourage new and young vocations, which we feel is a cause for great excitement. For this we ask you to keep us in prayer. As you can possibly imagine, we feel the need to know that we are being supported and would like to set up a group for friends to offer this support, either through prayer and fellowship, or through donations. One friend is already in the process of using her gift of craft works to raise money for our funding, which I hope in due course we may be able to sell online, so please watch out for that. We will be keeping in touch in the future through the Portal, so please keep reading. We are very grateful for all of you who have already shown us enormous support and we hope will feel able to continue. Thank you. If you feel that you are able to support us in any way, please contact us by any of the following ways listed above. May God bless you, with love & prayers, Sr. Wendy Renate and Sr. Jane Louise The Ordinary’s Diary for August 2012 The Right Revd Monsignor Keith Newton 6 Mellish Gardens, Woodford Green, Essex IG8 0BH Tel: 020 8505 7259 Fax: 020 8504 3349 5th 1100 Mass at St Peter and St Boniface, Fortrose, Inverness, and an informal lunch with the Scotland Ordinariate group Monsignor John Broadhurst 19 Spencelayh Close, Wellingborough, Northants NN8 4UU Tel: 010933 674614 [email protected] Email: [email protected] 25th-26th Youth 2000 at Walsingham Monsignor Andrew Burnham Tel: 01235 835038 Email: [email protected]
