THE P RTAL April 2017 Walking around with Joanna Bogle DSG T he Southwark and history Page 4 London Catholic History Walks project was launched by the same group that ran the “Path to Rome” conferences some years back, under the patronage of the late Mgr Graham Leonard, sometime (Anglican) Bishop of London. The Walks have thrived and you can find out more about them from the website: www.catholichistorywalks.org which will give you the dates and the places to meet etc. The Walks mostly concentrate on central London’s famous quarters – Westminster and the City, Chelsea (for St Thomas More) and the river and the Tower.  But since becoming involved with the Ordinariate parish at The Borough, London Bridge, I have become fascinated by Southwark – the more so as I have a family link there (my late father’s office – and his father’s before him – stood in Hopton Street, on the south side of Blackfriars Bridge, with a fine view of St Paul’s).
