THE P RTAL April 2015 UK Pages - page 18 News from the UK Groups “The Holy Father loves you” At the recent Chrism Mass for the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, the Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Manini said he was delighted to be invited to celebrate the Chrism Mass with the Ordinarate for the fourth year running. He addressed the clergy of the Ordinariate and the laity present saying, “I come here as a friend, as a brother, and I am here also as a representative of the Holy Father. I want to assure you of the appreciation and the lasting affection the Holy Father for all of you.” He added, “Do not be discouraged. The Holy Father loves you.” The Nuncio ended, saying: “The first call of mission is the communion of the brothers. May God bless all of you, give you hope and strength and encouragement concerning all that lies in the future.” Seder Passover Meal R ecently the North Birmingham Ordinariate Group celebrated the Seder, the Passover meal. All the prayers, songs, questions and ceremonies were held in recognition that it is our history as the new Israel. Twelve Patriarchs led to twelve apostles, the Old Testament joined by the New, and the Eucharist growing from the Seder itself. Members of the Group joined in with things heartily. It was a wonderful event, and added to our understanding of our the Bible.” Walsingham meeting Amost unusual ‘meeting’ occurred in Walsingham last month at the beginning of the Holy Mile walk to the Slipper Chapel during the Children’s Pilgrimage to the Anglican Shrine. Mgr Armitage had invited the pilgrims to visit the Slipper Chapel and as they left the Shrine via the West door, suddenly there appeared the Anglican image of Our Lady! Fortunately, photographer Graham Howard was in the right position at the right moment!
