Hastings TeamUp to PinkUp One Mile
Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness
Month
St. Johns County Parks and Recreation is teaming up with the Town of
Hastings to host TeamUp to PinkUp,
a one mile walk to show support for
Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. on
Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Walter E. Harris
Community Center, 400 East Harris St.,
Hastings.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. and
live entertainment and informational
booths will greet participants at Al
Wilke Park following the walk.
A ceremony recognizing local breast
cancer survivors will begin at 10:30
a.m. Walkers are encouraged to wear
pink, and a $10 donation is requested,
with all donations going to Pink Up

The St. Johns County Behavioral
Consortium is hosting the Children’s
Behavioral Health Summit from 8:30
a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23 at
the St. Johns County Administration
Building, 500 San Sebastian View.
Participants, with the help of keynote
speaker Pam Petersen-Baston MPA,
CAP, CAPP, and local stakeholders, will
spend the day discussing behavioral
health issues facing our community’s
youth, learning about nationally recognized best practices, and formulating positive strategies to better serve
the youth of St. Johns County through
breakout sessions and group strategic
planning.
The Summit is free, includes lunch,
and is open to the public. Attendees can also obtain four Continuing
Education Credits from LSF Health

Salvation Army of Northeast Florida’s
second annual Red Shield Ball
The Salvation Army will hold its 2nd
annual Red Shield Ball on Saturday,
Oct. 24 from 6:30-11 p.m. at the San
Jose Country Club, 7529 San Jose Blvd.
in Jacksonville.
The gala-style fundraiser includes
dinner, a live band and dancing, and
live and silent auctions. Tickets are
$150; young professionals 35 and under are $100.
