Ponte Vedra Auto Show 23 Ponte Vedra Recorder · September 10, 2015 About the Porsche 993 The Brumos Collections’ 1998 Porsche 3.8 RSR, one of the last of the 993 air-cooled Porsches to leave Germany. Photos Provided by Brumos Automotive Group The 20th anniversary of the Porsche 993 is a milestone worthy of recognition. Of the many versions of the 911 that were designed over the years, the 993 remains one of the most popular of all the production Porsches ever built. It is of particular significance because it represents the last of the air-cooled Porsches. The car itself is a classic — it not only looked great, it was a fun car to drive. When you also add the fact that it was the last in a long line of air-cooled models, it takes on special significance. The market that exists for any well-kept, vintage Porsche is strong, and the 993’s are exactly the kind of cars people love to find. I would bet that in about five years, the 993’s — particularly those of the last year of production — will really go up in value, so if you have one, my advice is to hang on to it! — Hurley Haywood
