U13 VI
A great season of tennis for the U13
girls. We have had notable wins against
Hymers and Hill House when all our
girls involved in tennis took part and
achieved wins across the board. Our
U12 VI
The U12 girls have worked very well
this season during Games sessions and
at our after school practices, and their
skills have really improved. Honey Roe
and Evie Rennison have worked very
well as top pair and have achieved some
very respectable scores in their matches.
Amy Blight is certainly a player to
watch, and she and Bethany Fenwick
have also worked well as second pair
for the A team. Belle Yeomans, Caitlin
Marshall and Orla Jamieson have shown
great enthusiasm this season and have
ISTA Tennis Tour
On Saturday 30th June, U13s: Lily
Levine, Alex Brown, Isadora Philip
and Jessica Dyson and Seniors: Cordie
Cavill (Capt), Bryony Underwood, Alice
Mowforth and Millie Goode, travelled
down to Eton College, Windsor for the
ISTA Champions.
On Sunday 1st July, as well as a popping to
the shops in Windsor, the juniors watched
the seniors play the round robin matches
of the Loveband Trophy competition. All
the girls played brilliantly in extremely
hot conditions. However, Alice and Millie
eventually lost in the Plate competition
against tough teams of Sevenoaks and
St Helen and St Katherine and although
Cordie and Bryony went through to the
Trophy competition, they were knocked
out in the second round – losing 7-5, 6-3
to Eastbourne.
Afterwards the juniors were able to
practise before their matches the next
day. In the evening, we all went into a
top 4 players of Jess, Isadora, Lily and
Alex have taken part in the AEGON
league against Hymers and successfully
progressed to the next round which
will be played in September. The girls
have all worked very hard and been
determined in every game they play.
It has been a pleasure to coach them
enjoyed gaining match experience. The
highlight of the season was definitely
the fixture against Hymers when almost
all the girls in the year represented the
school.
A special mention must go to Bethany
Fenwick, Honey Roe and Belle Yeomans
for their excellent commitment to
training this term.

goes to Amy Blight for her very good

wonderful restaurant and got to know
everyone a bit better.
The next day, on Monday 2nd July, all
the U13s had round robin matches in
the Ralph Cake Trophy competition.
Jess and Isadora (pair 1) won 3 out of 4
of their matches which took them into
the Trophy round with second place
in their box. Lily and Alex (pair 2) lost
4 and won 1 which took them into the
Plate round.
On Tuesday Jess and Isadora lost the
second round and were therefore knocked
out of the Trophy competition. Lily and
Alex also lost the second round and so
unfortunately, Pocklington were knocked
out of the championships altogether.
We hopped on the bus around an hour
later and arrived home at roughly
quarter to seven just in time to watch the
football! Overall we think Pocklington
did very well and we are very proud of
the seniors and juniors.
Isadora Philip and AGC
and I hope they progress and continue
playing next year. Well done.
