SPORT// NETBALL NETBALL 2nd VII The 2nd VII Netball squad was the most successful senior squad this season as they came up against some tough local opposition. Charlotte Pell, Hannah East and Emma Watson were formidable in attack; Emma Stewart, Ruby Stainforth, Millie Goode and Saffy Adams maintained the centre of the court superbly and Emma Farnsworth, Verity Sowersby and Esme Littlewood were pillars of strength in defence. The 2nd VII had wins against Queen Mary’s and Hull Collegiate which are notable achievements. Huge thanks must go to Captain, Emma Farnsworth who acted much of the time as both Coach and Captain, supported superbly by Vice Captain Saffy Adams. show character and commitment week in, week out and even the ‘Beast from the East’ during the 2018 season wasn’t enough to deter our gritty young ladies. The 2nd VII are a hugely valued part of the Netball setup at Pocklington and without the commitment of girls mentioned above, the depth and structure of our senior netball would be only half of what is currently is; they LKH U15B VII P5 / W4 / D1 / L0 The U15B Team had a successful season with winning most of their matches. Congratulations to all the team players on their excellent play throughout the season: Megan M’Benga, George Elliot, Tilly Rumgay, Hannah Robinson, Poppy Rogers, Trinity Wright, Zaira Gurung, Isabella Walsh, Mia Annetts-Smith and Eunae Charlton-Harrison. Pocklington V Ampleforth was the match that stood out as the score was so tight in each quarter, all players gave it their all and both teams were as good as each other 68 THE POCKLINGTONIAN They should be proud of all they have achieved in Netball this season. so the score was justified as a draw.
