LOWER SCHOOL HOUSE
CAMP 2018
46 First years and 6 staff travelled to Bamburgh,
Northumberland in July 2018 for five days of fun and
adventure. Once again, we stayed at the super Sunningdale
hotel where we enjoyed lovely food and made the most of
being just a stone’s throw from the beach. The weather was
fantastic all week so we were able to make the most of our boat
trip around the Farne Islands and our visit to Alnwick Castle.
I am delighted to report that all pupils (and Mr Hughes)
passed their first broomstick flying lesson.
Our day of coasteering proved to be most popular and the
sense of adventure and teamwork shown by all was extremely
impressive. Thank goodness for our wetsuits though, the water
was pretty cold!
Year on year, this long running trip proves to be a truly
memorable highlight for all pupils and staff who take part. I
look forward to July 2019 which will see us celebrate the 50th
year of House Camp.
