MEDICINAL USE
It is a much-branched, bushy,
herbaceous, perennial plant, 1 to 2
feet high.
The juice held a while in the mouth
easeth pains in the teeth.
Diuretic, laxative, refrigerant and
slightly demulcent.
The juice dropped into the ears
easeth the noise in them and taketh
away the pricking and shooting
pains therein.
The distilled water of the herb drank
with sugar worketh the same effect
and cleanseth the skin from spots,
freckles, pimples, wheals, sunburn,
etc...
Its action upon the urinary calculus is
GASTRONOMIC USE
Upright pellitory is an edible plant ( it’s taste is similar to
cucumber) and it’s use is becoming more common as it is an
exceptional diuretic and works great to combat problems of fluid
retention, overweight or cellulite.
The fresh parietaria leaf can be eaten directly, athought the most
common is to take infusions of it’s dry leaf with laxative,
depurative or diuretic purposes.
For culinary use the parietaria is collected
in it’s anitial state, before flowering,
taking the most tender leaves.
After washing them carefully, they are
boiled and consumed in salad passed
trought butter.
They are also a good ingredient for the
preparation of soups and vegetable stews.
They give them a very intense green color.
perhaps more marked than any other
simple agent at present employed.
1.Boil in a liter of water 30gm of dry parietaria.
Pellitory-of-the-Wall is a
mostmefficacious remedy for stone in
the bladder, dropsy, stricture and
other urinary complaints.
2.Wait until the liquid is warm before filtering it.
