Flowers: The flowers are born in flowering branches between the leaves, protected by a modified or spaced cylindrical leaf, wider in the central area and that opens when ripe. These flowers are spiraling on the axes and are cream or yellowish. Leaves: -Spanish: Palmito -Portuguese: Palmeira -Albanian: Palmetto -Turkish: Palmetto -Estonian: Palm -Catalan: Margalló -English: Mediterranean dwarf palm tree Chamaerops humilis The Chamaerops humilis or palmito is a shrubby tree that can sometmes reach up to 4 m high and, even between 8 and 35 cm in diameter. Naturally the trunk is covered by old dry leaves or their remains. The leaves resemble fans, are simple, persistent, clapped and very large. The sheet is between 11 and 43 cm long and between 7 and 60 cm wide. Fruit: The fruits, which are the dates, are fleshy, between 1. and 4 cm long and between 0.7 and 1.6 cm wide and are brown or reddish in color.
