“A lot like Dustin R, I was also raised on a bunch of rock and metal type stuff so it all just came natural. Being in a band is the best thing anyone could do. You get to learn, meet people, and experience things with with your best bros!" -Dustin Wilkie

What is the name of each member and the position they play in the band?

Marcus “Young AF” Jackson pretty much sits around and texts but when he is in the mood he does vocals for us. We have two Dustin’s in the band (Dustin Reems and Dustin Wilkie), who both play guitar and have great hair. Our drummer’s name is Justin Crutchfield. We call him “Uncle Cruh Cruh” because he seems like he would be a good uncle.

Name some of the goals for the band in 2014.

Sure! First thing we have planned this year is releasing our first ep. There is still some work to be done for it but we hope to have that out very soon. Then, if all goes as planned it’s mainly typical band stuff for the rest of the year! We hope to be out meeting people and playing as many shows as possible.

Do you have any links you would like to share?

The main social media sites we use are Facebook and Youtube. We have a lot of "behind the scenes” footage from the studio that will be up on our YouTube very soon. It’s also where we will upload the ep so anyone can stream it for free. Radical! We also upload silly band vlogs there from time to time.

We also just made an instragram (@CardinalState) where we upload some pretty random pictures and short videos.

Any closing thoughts?

An american, a brit and a mexican is standing by a plane. The brit throws out a bag of tea, explaining to the confused others: "We have so much tea in England we can just throw it out!". The mexican proceeds by throwing a bag of peppers out, explaining "We have so much peppers in Mexico, we can just throw it out!". The american proceeds to throw the mexican out of the plane.

"Why did you do that?!" exclaimed the brit. The american turned around. "He killed my wife."

Thanks TPU for the opportunity to do this interview. It’s been fun! Thanks for all you do for the local scene!
