The test events are also a chance for the athletes to get to know and familiarize themselves with the competition venues , and for the organizers and officials to test out the facilities and systems they have in place .
Which countries to watch at the Test Event ?
For women , it ’ s the Romanian & Brazilian teams who everyone will be watching . The Romanians shocked the world and failed to automatically qualify for the Olympics for the first time . They are looking to secure their spot here . The Brazilians have a very talented , but very young team . They want nothing more than to qualify as a full team to their home Olympics .
For the men , it ’ s going to be a huge dog fight , with eight essentially equal strength teams — Germany , France , Netherlands , Ukraine , Spain , Romania , Canada & Belarus — fighting for those four team spots .
