The story of a child
in the South Bronx
living on a dream
without any hope
He says he doesn’t know why
the city puts them there
a mountain on a mountain
of disease and violence
They say the People forget
we’re people
We forget we’re a People
together oppressed
We forget so we kill each other
He said he applied to college
and hopes he gets in
while his mother lays in a bed
a result of the City’s dream
