Ego
A poem by Michelle Norsworthy
She races, runs free
Trying to escape the spaces
Made for me
And me alone
Amass in a sea of bodies
Wondering if the free
Are really free
I wonder: does she really see me
For all that I am, or
Just what I have done
A walking testament of adversity
Diversity; to say, “Look I was there
Before you made
Got famous, and all these
People knew your name,” but
Does she know me?
