My Life as an Image Consultant
Most image consultants work primarily with
women and sometimes with men. I’m unusual in
that I work exclusively with men.
You might think that working with humans, that
I’d be around them more often than I actually
am. Surprisingly, I sit at my desk a lot. When I’m
working with a new client, there is face time of
course, but there is also a good deal of research
and thought that goes into each individual client
so I can get a feel for who this individual man is,
how he’s built, and what kind of eyes he sees
through.
Who Is That Man?
My clients begin their image process by
answering almost three dozen questions that
probe his life, his roles, his tastes, his
self-understanding, and his world view, among
other things. Character analysis is one of the
most fascinating parts of image work because
humans and their characters are endlessly
fascinating to me. Listening, watching, observing
the face, expressions, and movements helps me
discover the essence of my clients.
Essentially, I take a man apart, analyze those
parts, and put him back together in a more
comfortable and authentic way - he is
transformed. His confidence and awareness of
presentation is boosted; people see him as more
credible and more attractive, and his life
changes for the better.
