has only two locations worldwide—hence
the numerical representation in its’ name.
Firenze, (that’s Florence for the unaware)
Italy and in the Eastern Market
neighborhood of Washington DC. The old
world look and feel of this establishment
transports you to a slower –and
better—time of life where men wore coat
and tie to dinner and didn’t mind sitting
close enough to the next couple to hear
their conversation but yet be so engrossed
in the food and ambience that they
themselves may as well be the only couple
in the place. The gnocchi is a winner, but is
my personal choice, the Blueberry steak is
the star of the show. Enjoy a succulent filet
mignon in a reduction of blueberry
sauce—hence the name blueberry steak—
paired with a silky Burgundy wine and
Acqua Al 2 turns out to be number one.
