Jesus has radically and powerfully changed my life completely . You see , Jesus did not stay dead back 2000 years ago when He was crucified . He is the only God who ever rose from the dead ! He forgave me and gave me a brand new life !
Shortly after this , I met and married my lovely wife and have been married for the last 19 years . We have six wonderful children , and I have been sober for 20 years ! I never thought that would happen ! God has done many amazing things in these last 20 years , including helping plant a church in Saint Cloud , MN and moving in faith to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to serve at a church . I started to do jail and prison ministry about seven years ago . I went regularly to three different prisons and a couple of jails . We recently moved down to Florida to do more jail and prison ministry , and I was accepted to ALL 56 prisons here , Praise God !
Listen , I know what it ’ s like to be locked up both physically and mentally . I also know that only Jesus can change that ! Jesus loves you ! He really does ! Jesus says , “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son , that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life . For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world , but that the world through Him might be saved . He who believes in Him is not con- demned ; but he who does not believe is condemned already , because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God ( John 3:16-18 ).”
Are you condemned today ? Jesus wants to give you a new life ! He wants to free you from the bondages of sin ! We were not created for the evil works which we all have done as it says in Romans , “ For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God ( Romans 3:23 ).” But we were created for good things , like being the fathers , mothers , sons and daughters we ought to be ! Ephesians says , “ For by grace you have been saved through faith , and that not of your- selves ; it is the gift of God , not of works , lest anyone should boast . For we are His workmanship , created in Christ Jesus for good works , which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them Ephesians 2:8-10 .”
Jesus is also a gentleman and will not force himself on you . You have to repent of your sin and accept His forgiveness ! Will you do that today ? It just takes a simple thing called prayer . Just talking to God . Ask for forgiveness of what you have done . Not just what got you locked up , but everything that you can remember . Then trust in what Jesus did on the cross for you ! God will begin to change your life for the better ! In 2nd Corinthians 6:2 , “ In an acceptable time , I have heard you , I have helped you . Behold , now is the accepted time ; now is the day of salvation ( Corinthians 2 6:2 ).”
