I was so challenged by the broad mandate of
the OVCRD that I also studied, took the
examinations, and became qualified as a patent
agent in the Philippines, together with a few
others in UP.
Lastly, again on a personal note, I thank the
OVCRD family for being a professional
family that works together, enjoys together,
learns together, and serves together. I am, we
are all humbled yet inspired by the fact that
learning, like research or creative work, never
really ends. To the OVCRD family and the
UP research and creative work community, I
dedicate this attempt at a haiku which was
inspired by the Penrose steps, an “impossible”
object created by Lionel Penrose and his son
Roger Penrose, that I labelled “Lifelong
Learning:”
