UP Diliman NEW PROGRAMS Gawad Chanselor sa Natatanging Mananaliksik sa Filipino In 1989, the University of the Philippines approved and implemented , which established Filipino as the primary medium of teaching and research in the niversity. The language policy also gave educators incentives and awards in the creation of textbooks, teaching materials, teaching aids. In the spirit of Patakarang Pangwika, the OVCRD, in collaboration with the Sentro ng Wikang Filipino (SWF), established the new award category “Gawad Chanselor sa Natatanging Manalaliksik sa Filipino.” The main objective of this prestigious award is to recognize the efforts of scholars across all academic disciplines who use the Filipino language in their research. Awardees are chosen according to their effective use of Filipino as a primary language in their research, as well as the significance of their research to the UP Diliman community and to Philippine society. The Gawad Chanselor sa Natatanging Mananaliksik sa Filipino is open to all regular or full-time faculty and REPS who have served UP Diliman for at least three years. The first recipient of the Gawad Chanselor sa Natatanging Mananaliksik sa Filipino is Dr. Glecy C. Atienza.
