NEW PROGRAMS
Gawad Chanselor sa Natatanging Mananaliksik
sa Filipino
In 1989, the University of the Philippines
approved and implemented
, which established Filipino as the
primary medium of teaching and research
in the niversity. The language policy also
gave educators incentives and awards in the
creation of textbooks, teaching materials,
teaching aids.
In the spirit of Patakarang Pangwika, the
OVCRD, in collaboration with the Sentro ng
Wikang Filipino (SWF), established the new
award category “Gawad Chanselor sa
Natatanging Manalaliksik sa Filipino.”
The main objective of this prestigious award
is to recognize the efforts of scholars across
all academic disciplines who use the Filipino
language in their research. Awardees are
chosen according to their effective use of
Filipino as a primary language in their
research, as well as the significance of their
research to the UP Diliman community and
to Philippine society. The Gawad Chanselor
sa Natatanging Mananaliksik sa Filipino is
open to all regular or full-time faculty and
REPS who have served UP Diliman for at
least three years.
The first recipient of the
Gawad Chanselor sa
Natatanging Mananaliksik sa
Filipino is Dr. Glecy C.
Atienza.
