UP Diliman
UP Diliman, through the OVCRD, has
regularly participated in this public weeklong
event. In the past, UP Diliman’s NSTW
exhibitions have been quite low-key. In 2012
and 2013, however, the OVCRD put up much
larger exhibitions. Whereas previous years’
exhibitions were housed in only one booth, the
2012 and 2013 exhibitions occupied three
adjacent booths, making it possible to
showcase more UP Diliman inventions and
innovations.
In 2012, 11 projects were featured. Their
proponents were faculty members, researchers,
and student coming from different institutes in
the colleges of Engineering (Computer Science,
and Electrical and Electronics Engineering)
and Science (Molecular Biology and
Biotechnology, and Physics). From the College
Engineering, contributions included apps for
learning, an Internet login authentication
system, integrated circuit technologies, and
wind power system. From the College of
Science, there were projects about underwater
pharmaceuticals, biomolecule analysis, oileating bacteria, waste water treatment,
holography, and granular matter analysis.
Several projects had an interactive set-up and
during the entire week of the exhibit, members
of the project teams were on hand to answer
questions from the exhibition visitors.
, and copies were
distributed to those who visited the UP
Diliman booth. In all, the UP Diliman
exhibition attracted more than 1,000 visitors.
