OVCRD’s Multimedia Campaign: Cross- latform
Convergence

Traditional media platforms are now evolving,
and there is a need for more multi-platform
campaigns that are informative and interactive
and will reach a wider audience. To strengthen
UP Diliman’s engagement with its publics and
communicate its goals and thrusts, the
OVCRD, through its Research Dissemination
and Utilization Office (RDUO), produced
several audio-visual presentation materials
(AVPs) focusing on research and creative work
in the campus.
The first AVP, titled Science and Technology:
Moving the Philippines Forward, is a 10-minute
presentation highlighting research and
development (R&D) initiatives in UP Diliman
as world-class, multi-disciplinary, pioneering,
and socially-relevant. The AVP was launched
in July 2012, as part of UP Diliman’s exhibition
for the 2012 NSTW organized by the DOST.
The material is intended primarily for high
school students, who comprise the biggest
proportion of the NSTW’s visitors. In
showcasing various science and technology
projects in the campus, the AVP hopes to
encourage high school students to venture into
R&D in their studies and future careers.

OVCRD uses audiovisual presentations, uploaded in
the OVCRD website, to promote research and
creative work in UP Diliman.
