“Principles for the development of a complete mind:
study the science of art, study the art of science.
Develop your senses—especially learn how to see.
Realize that everything connects to everything else ”
Leonardo da Vinci
One only needs to turn to the great
Renaissance artist and scientist, Leonardo
da Vinci, to discern the very idea of
convergence. The quintessential polymath,
da Vinci was not only a painter, sculptor,
musician, and writer; he was also an engineer,
inventor, architect, mathematician, anatomist,
cartographer, and botanist.
The fields of science and art are frequently

modern world have made it apparent that art
and science not only co-exist, but actually
energize and enrich each other.
The OVCRD recognizes the benefits of this
cross-disciplinary exchange in the University
and beyond, and thus has been proactively
organizing and supporting research and
creative work initiatives and programs that
ffer a wealth of opportunities for
collaborations that will enable artists and
scientists to “learn how to see” and “realize
that everything connects to everything else ”
