The PMRGO handles the overall project
management of institutional and external
grants. The Office extends funding and
technical support for research
undertakings of faculty members, REPS,
and students; processes the applications of
faculty members for research load credit and
creative work load credit; assists in
formulating guidelines on resource
generation; and coordinates with relevant
offices and agencies to identify high-priority
R&D areas. Additionally, it maintains and
updates a database of UP Diliman’s R&D
initiatives and outputs. The Office also
provides administrative assistance to UP
Diliman’s Institutional Biosafety Committee,
Institutional Animal Care and Use
Committee, and Institutional Ethics Review
Committee.

The RDUO also processes the application for
Research and Dissemination Grant and
International Publications Award (Book
Chapter) in UP Diliman. It also maintains
patent databases that may be used for prior art
searches.

The RDUO handles the dissemination of
research and creative work outputs of UP
Diliman faculty, researchers, and creative
workers through several venues. It publishes
three refereed journals: Humanities Diliman,
Science Diliman, and Social Science Diliman.
It also maintains the OVCRD website;
manages the UP Diliman Journals nline
portal; publishes various print and online
materials about R&D in the University; and
coordinates the accreditation of all UP
Diliman ournals and assists them in gaining
accreditation from institutions like the
Commission on Higher Education, Scopus,
and Thomson-Reuters/ISI.

The Technology Transfer Section assists UP
Diliman’s researchers and creative workers in
the protection, patenting, deployment, and
commercialization of their inventions,
innovations, and creations. It functions as
Innovation and Technology Support Office
(ITSO) in partnership with the Intellectual
Property Office of the Philippines.

At present, the RDUO has two sections: the
Publications Section, and the Technology
Transfer Section.
The Publications Section is in charge of the
research dissemination activities and
copyright-related concerns. It organizes
research colloquia and participates in the
research and creative work dissemination of
UP Diliman’s R&D partners. It assists the UP
Diliman faculty, researchers, creative workers,
and students on copyright matters.
