UP Diliman’s scholarly publications also
benefited from several initiatives of the
OVCRD. Here, the main goals are to gain
wider readership for the journals, assist them
in obtaining accreditation from national and
international accreditation/listing
institutions, and provide them with
opportunities for strengthening their
editorial procedures. To set the example, the
OVCRD implemented major changes in the
management of its three journals,
with very positive
results: all journals now release their issues
on time, and all gained highest accreditation
from the Commission on Higher Education.
In support of UP Diliman journals, the
OVCRD continues to operate the UP
Diliman Journals Online (UPDJOL) portal
organize seminar-workshops aimed at
helping the journals obtain international
accreditation
As the Steward of UP Diliman’s R&D
resources, the OVCRD recognizes the
the University’s
gratitude to its R&D partners. The OVCRD also
forged new partnerships for research
dissemination and harnessed new platforms for
making known to the wider public the creative
work initiatives and accomplishments of the
different units in the campus.
Stewardship also means nurturing relationships
within. The OVCRD therefore has ensured that
collaborations with the UP System
actively
maintained. The OVCRD also takes pride in its
initiatives to upgrade the skills of its personnel
and ensure their welfare through bonding
activities.
Borrowing words again from Chancellor Saloma,

management of R&D resources is a challenge that
requires equal measures of prudence and
boldness, and the OVCRD hopes that with the
initiatives it implemented in the last three years,
it has successfully tackled this challenge.
Expansion: The Enabling Strategy
theme of Expansion affirms OVCRD’s
readiness to accelerate, innovate, initiate new
programs, propose new policies, and assume new
functions in order to remain responsive to the needs
of UP Diliman’s researchers and creative workers,
and to ensure that UP Diliman’s R&D program
