Upcoming Activities SHROVE TUESDAY Shrove Tuesday or Mardi PANCAKE PARTY Gras is celebrated on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of Lent in the Christian faith. The custom of eating pancakes on Shrove Tuesday dates back hundreds of years. It was the day to clear the fat, cream, yeast, and other rich ingredients like butter and eggs out of the kitchen before the Lenten fast. Traditionally, the ingredients were made into pancakes.
