SUMMARY OF SEASON
For most people , it was the best season ever . A lot of records were broken . It was short , but sap ran really well . It was our best year , personally , by a few gallons . We had lower sugar content . It averaged from our vacuum system around 2 to 2.3 . Towards the end of the season , it was closer to 2 percent . The season started early . A lot of people were making syrup in February . We made no syrup in April , which was odd . A few places up north did . The last weekend in March , the farms in central Minnesota were finishing . We had a lot of lighter syrup .
