CHOOSE OR CREATE YOUR OWN
RARE ADVENTURE!
This summer, for the first time ever, Wah-Tut-Ca and
T. L. Storer will be coming together to offer an all-new
program, Rare Adventures! Designed with the goal of
bringing the High-Adventure Experience to your local
council camp, the Rare Adventures program will allow
scouts to participate in incredible new opportunities
the likes of which they won’t find in any other camp.
Expanding and redefining the scope of what is
possible in just a week of summer camp, the Rare
Adventures program is here to offer an unforgettable
experience to every scout who enters a NeXus camp!
Varying in length and difficulty, the Rare Adventures
will provide new experiences to scouts of all ages,
ranks, and skill levels: Spend an hour on an excursion on the Craig Ryder Whale
Boat, learning advanced sailing techniques while exploring the beautiful and expansive Northwood Lake! Grab a friend and take on the all-new Vertical Caving Tower at
T. L. Storer, climbing, crawling, and rappelling your way through a vertical maze!
Gather your patrol or troop and head out to Parker Mountain for an overnight survival
simulation, doing the best you can to make it through until the break of day! Units
will even have the opportunity to work with the NeXus staff and build their own Rare
Adventure, facilitated by us! Whatever you choose, you’re guaranteed to have a
one-of-a-kind experience, only available at the Northern NeXus of Adventure!
There are three ways individuals or units can register for Rare Adventures. First you
can press the button below to “Choose Your Own Adventure. Additional information
can also be found in the Program Guide, registration will be available anytime up
until one week prior to a Troop’s arrival at camp. A second opportunity for registration will be available at the leader’s meetings at the end of May. Finally, Troops will
have the opportunity to work with the NeXus team upon arrival to camp to finalize
their Rare Adventure schedules!
We are also encouraging units to “Create Their Own Adventure”. Troops and Crews
can develop a half-day or overnight programs that can truly be their own. You can
choose a kayaking trip on the Suncook river, or Bike to a destination of your choosing or climb and camp on a local peak. NeXus Staff will help you plan and provision
your adventure. When you click on the sign up button below not only can you sign
up for a Rare Adventure you can start planning and get help to develop your own.
Scouts and Leaders will be able to earn points for participating in Rare Adventures,
that can then be applied towards earning the Spirit of Adventure Camping Award!
