The Northern NeXus Of Adventure Issue 2 | Page 5

RIDE THE NORTHERN NEXUS This summer both mountain biking and horseback riding will be available to scouts attending a NeXus camp. Scouts from Storer and Wah-Tut-Ca can bring their bikes to use for Rare Adventures. Across the NeXus, scouts from all over will be able to take advantage of the beautiful landscapes and scenery comprised of 30,000 acres of woodlands and mountains offered by southern New Hampshire. Got a burning, yearning desire to cruise through trails and woods on two wheels? Then bring a bike with you to camp and make the most of the NeXus’s incredible mountain bike program. The NeXus has treks of varying difficulties and distances. Scouts aged 14 and up can challenge themselves in an extreme way, pushing the boundaries of their physical ability and concentration as they pedal, ride, and cruise through a wide range of trails and challenges. Another way to ride the NeXus is horseback riding. Come on down, saddle up, and get an introduction to riding and working with horses. Start off with a nice tour through T. L. Storer, and work your way up to longer trips through the backwoods and Parker Mountain Trails. In case you just can’t satisfy the thrill of riding atop a horse, there will also be a week long horse program where Scouts will be paired with a horse for the week and go on daily treks out of camp. So get ready to explore the NeXus, whether by horse, a bike, boat, or on feet, you will be camping with the Spirit of Adventure.
