SKLAR 106 th ANNUAL NJSACOP TRAINING CONFERENCE Each June, the NJSACOP convenes our organization’s largest and most important event — The Annual NJSACOP Training Conference and Police/Security Expo. The Conference combines prominent speakers and training professionals, high-profile incident reviews, and valuable leadership insights for the police executive along with social and networking functions, highlighted by the Installation Banquet. This year’s event marks our 106 th Annual Conference. The Conference is also a time to learn, share ideas, establish a communications networks, and renew friendships. The emotional high point of the Installation Banquet is the NJSACOP Valor Awards, presented to law enforcement officers who have gone over and above the call of duty to help their fellow citizens at the peril of their own safety, or even life. Our annual Police/Security Expo is one of the largest law enforcement-related Tradeshows in North America. Approximately 700 vendors and over 6,000 attendees converge on the Atlantic City Convention Center for two days to view and tryout the latest in tools, technology, hardware and software for the police and security professional. This year’s Conference kicks off with the Host Chief’s Night Reception on Monday, June 25 th at the LandShark Atlantic City on the world-famous Boardwalk. The training portion of our Conference commences the following morning, Tuesday, June 26 th when former NJ Governor Jim McGreevey (NJ Reentry Corporation) and John Brogan of Lifeline Recovery Support Service start the morning with their discussion entitled Addiction, Recovery, Reentry: Responding to the Opiate Epidemic by Saving and Rebuilding Lives. This will be followed by recently retired Linden Police Chief Jonathan Parham, who will present Lessons from the Storm. On Wednesday, June 27 th , Dr. Maurizio Miglietta will begin the morning with How to Save A Life: Prepare Your Personnel & Agency to Survive Traumatic Injuries. Following this important discussion, Chief Ed Flynn, most recently with the Milwaukee Police Department, will discuss Press Relations vs Agency Missions and Maintaining Community Relationships. In addition to these main training opportunities, there will also be seminars and presentations throughout the Police/Security Expo taking place at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The Annual Conference is a chance for our entire membership and our colleagues and friends to come together for professional development, networking and fellowship.
