It's a Canada Goose, an easily-identified, introduced species.
The Canada Goose, native to North America, is a large goose found
in suitable habitat all over the country - generally seen on grassland in open spaces or on an edge of a lake.
The NZ population is mainly decended from 50 birds brought here in 1905.
